Belfast from Harland & Wolff Cranes
Despite many thousands of us living in the City of Belfast very few have ever witnessed the breath taking views from the top of Belfast most famous monuments Samson & Goliath.
Whilst Simply Belfast can't allow you up the cranes we can now bring you some photos from the top of these listed monuments.
The cranes are probably the most photographed landmark in Belfast and are considered by many as masterpieces of engineering. Standing proudly on the Belfast skyline they now represent the city's vast maritime heritage, a time when Harland and Wolff ship builders were one of the biggest ship builders in the world. An international shipbulder that built over 70 ships for the White Star Line including Titanic.
The cranes Samson and Goliath have no connection to the building of Titanic or even to Harland & Wolff during its heyday as they were only constructed in the 60's/70's. To be precise Goliath become operational in 1969 with Samson following in 1974.
The dizzy heights of the cranes allow for views unseen by many and as you can see show East Belfast, The Oval, Belfast City Airport, the Belfast Wheel, the Titanic Quarter and HMS Caroline.
