East Belfast Herald Launch

Its exciting times in the East of Belfast with the launch of its very own newspaper the 'East Belfast Herald'.

The paper's managing editor Fiona Rutherford was joined for the launch on Friday the 16th January 2009, at the Castlereagh campus of BMC, by local MLA and Ulster Unionist Party leader Sir Reg Empey.

The publication boasts a 64 page spread, packed full of local interest, news, features and sport, in fact everything local. I imagine, this site bought one of the very first copies of this new paper, which cost just 75 pence. The East Belfast Herald is a welcomed addition to our community after the closure of East Belfast's only weekly paid paper, the East Belfast Observer, some years ago.
