Discover Belfast Castle & Cave Hill Park
Perched on Cave Hill Belfast Castle overlooks the City of Belfast and offers majestic views of the city.
Whilst the castle's history dates back through the centuries, the current Belfast Castle only dates
back to the 19th century, completed in 1870 by the Marquess of Donegall.
The castle is a Belfast City Council facility and is used for events and functions, such as weddings. The
castle is open to the public with popular eateries such as the Cellar Restaurant and Tavern Café. Dining
al fresco in the landscaped gardens on a sunny day is a must.
Given its majestic architecture the castle is one of city's most photographed building, as is its landscaped
gardens and its panoramic views of the City of Belfast. The gardens are a testament to the Victorian era's
love for ornate landscaping, featuring manicured lawns, vibrant flower beds, and serene pathways that
meander through the estate.
One of the highlights of the gardens is the intricate mosaic tiles installation and the topiary which you can
see in the photographs below.
