St George's Market has just had a landmark year with over 1 million visitors in 2016.
It is seen by many to be one of Belfast's precious gems and one of its oldest attractions having weathered the worst of the troubles.

Where is St George's Market located & how do I get there?
Strangely, the market is located in what's locally called the markets area of Belfast. As the city has been regenerated St George's is located close to the Waterfront Hall, at the rear of the Belfast Crown Court. It's main entrances are on East Bridge Street, May Street and Oxford Street.
The market is situated two minutes away from NI Railways main stop, Belfast's Central Station, which is also on East Bridge Street. If arriving at Ulster buses' Laganside bus centre the market is accessible through its Oxford Street entrance. Metro bus services have stops close by on certain routes just ask your driver. If travelling from Belfast City Hall its as simple as going to the back of City Hall and walking for about 3 minutes down May Street and using St George's May Street Entrance
The market is a great Belfast attraction and if you're visiting ths city its a must, who knows you might even get yourself a little gem!
You can also visit the market using the shuttle bus service provided by Translink or by parking on street but be careful strict time limits apply.
The Market is always looking for talent interested in showcasing their material, whilst earning a little extra, simply contact the Senior Markets Supervisor on 028 9043 5704 or email markets@belfastcity.gov.uk.. Other services on site include Free Wi Fi.
St George's Market is situated close to the River Lagan and is the last of Belfast's Victorian markets to survive and is steeped in local history. For example, did you know that during the Belfast Blitz in World War Two the city sustained heavy casualties following German Bombing raids and St George's Market acted as an emergency mortuary for the city which lost nearly a thousand of its own.
