A Little History
Before the Victoria Square Shopping Centre was the Victoria Centre sitting on part of the same site, this centre which opened in 1976 was more quaint, with smaller shops providing the retail offerings. However, following peace in Belfast, came growth and the city underwent significant redevelopment and regeneration in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, the Victoria Centre and many other building including the old IDB building in Chichester Street were demolished to make way for this new state of the art retail, entertainment and residential experience, in the form of the Victoria Square project, which offically opened in 2008.
